 sorry, didn't know where to put this topic... 
what do you trolls think...  drop plates or just drop the rear normally?  was checking out this site (vwrepublic) and was reading their suspension forum...  apparently they have these drop plates for sale and which seems an easy install...  thinking of getting them, but need a jedi master approval....

Depends how low you are going.

Is the drop plate you are talking about the "S" shape arm or the "adjustable" arm with the allen bolt to adjust height?

Dropping the rear a little (1-2 splines) using stock arms is the same procedure as adding either of the s or adj plates.

If you are dumping the rear, if the s plates are also extended that may be the ticket. Seth had to install extensions on the ghia to correct the toe in when using stock plates.

neither "S" or adjustable...  just staright bolt-on with slight modify...

havent seen those before. The new shock mount looks pretty low and looks like you need a ton of spacers on the upper bolt too. Rear hard line needs to be relocated too as it will get crushed by the bump stop casting.

Doesnt look like it has any extra toe adjustment either. Is the toe issue resolve by the stock location of the swing arm?

Looks pretty easy though.

I am not afraid of new stuff and I am not afraid of destroying old stuff. I would check feedback on these before purchasing.  Also realize that by cutting off your shock mount you cannot just go back to stock. My bug right now is that low and I did 2 clicks. No spring plate cutting at all. On the ghia I had notched the spring plates and went 3-4 clicks

yeah, i was reading what ppl thought about it in TS...  and it seems like people who bought it and used it had no problems with it...  and the ppl who HASN'T USED it were giving bad remarks due to cutting the shock mounts and the spring plate...  all-in-all, like you said slammed:  "i am not afraid of new stuff and i am not afraid of destroying old stuff."   i'll let you trolls know how it is when i get it....

what way would you trolls take?
a)  drop plates (slight modify)
              OR
b)  drop spring plates (no modify)

This broke troll would just reindex stock plates one click and do a 1 inch tranny raise.

Since mine is a driver going too low makes no sense. Going too low kills your tires, bearings, muffler and I cant afford to pay to replace those parts just to look cool.

Looking cool is all that matters.

I think I did a 2" tranny raise on the ghia.
That is about all you can go and keep your stock shift rod.

Don't think for a second that the "bolt on" plates is not going to be a lot of work.
It will be just as much as indexing and you will have then permanently cut you shock mount off.
I would try indexing first. If you don't like it put it back to stock. Then get the plates.
