my 65 spare parts project
« on: September 18, 2010, 04:36:05 PM »
i am trying to piece this together with parts that i have or troll parts or parts you guys give to me (thanks) trying to spend as little as possible, so some rattle cans of flat black (the cheap stuff!) a couple of rear brake cylinders, got reamed, (thanks E&C).

salvaging my old rear fenders, got some flared fiberglass fronts about a year ago at pomona, a couple of stock 66-67 front wheels and a pair of 15x8 mangels that i got with the drag bug 2 years ago, and swapped my tires that i had on my old wheels

i sat the body on it yesterday and mocked up a couple of fenders, also thinking about using my ghia front blinkers as my tail lights

i was messing with colors but the flat black is where it ended up

Looks good!!

What is up with the E&C club discount? Did you get german cylinders or the regular brazil? You should go get the parts from walter. I think chris got some for $12 each.

Did you ever find out what was up with the trans?

Found the back window.  I left it near the gate on the left hand side. It is pretty transparant so you should be carefull. Lates.  I will probably make it out there Thursday.  I will be out of town on Monday night thru Wednesday.

they are mangels. Which is just the aftermarket vw wheels you find at any vw shop except that they are 15x8" and stock is 15x4.5"
and 245/60/15 on them

and then 3" wider than stock fiberglass fenders
